July 4th Games and Crabfest

The pool will be open for fun, games, and CRABS on July 4th.  First, bring your children to the pool from noon – 2:00.  Bethesda Aquatics, our pool operations vendor, will be sponsoring a hot-dog lunch and a series of pool games and entertainment. Then, take a nap and get back to the pool.  From 5:00 – 7:00 we will be holding a crab dinner.  The pool will provide crabs, beverages, and lots of newspaper.  We encourage you to bring a side dish for yourself and some to share.

Please sign up at the life guard desk by Wednesday so we know you’re coming.  I would hate to run out of our state’s much celebrated crustacean.  Once again that schedule is:

July 4th
12 – 2 pm: kids’ lunch and games
5 – 7 pm: crabs

Rafting and Movie Night

As if Thursday nights weren’t great enough with raft-hour hour mayhem from 7 – 8 pm, starting this Thursday July 1st we will begin showing movies immediately afterward on our brand new 12 foot screen!  Come to the pool at 8 pm for a showing of the original Toy Story.  Before catching up on the latest adventures of Woody, Buzz, and the gang in theaters, see how it all began in 12 feet of outdoor, high definition, blu-ray goodness.  Swimming will end at 9 pm as always and the deck will be open until the movie ends sometime between 9:30 and 10 pm.

The snack bar will be open but I don’t think it stocks popcorn so you might want to bring your own and enough to share.
Any thoughts on what we should show next Thursday?  I’ve been lobbying for Jaws (think season-long adult swim).  Let me know what you think.

Thursday nights
7 – 8 pm: Rafting
8 – 9:30 pm: Movie
